The Fundraising Committee

At Kelson school we have a dedicated fundraising committee, made up of parents and staff representatives, who are committed to raising additional funds for our school, to further enhance our tamariki learning experiences.

Why is Fundraising So Important?

Over the last 2 years we have raised in excess of $50k from a series of activities including a Gala, movie night, lunches, discos, calendars and more! We have also been successful in receiving community grants.

Funding has enabled the purchase of shade sails, buses for school picnics, contributions towards Y6 camp and the bike track, play based learning equipment, STEM equipment including iPad’s, school swimming, teddy bear welcome gifts for every New Entrant child, Easter Egg Hunts, chess equipment, outdoor playground games and fun days for the tamarik as well as so much more.

How you can help? Your school needs you!

Join the Committee.
We love to see new faces at our meetings!

We hold events across the year and it’s a great way for you to meet other parents and staff, share fundraising ideas and to get involved in your school – we would love you to join us!

Joining the committee does not require a huge time commitment and we only meet twice a term. If you can’t make it to the meetings, we are always looking for enthusiastic people to help out with specific fundraising activities including people to assist during the school day as many of our fundraising committee members work full-time.

So, if you want to find out more, come along to our next meeting (dates can be found on Facebook or in the school newsletter or on our school calendar). You are welcome to contact Kathryn Dickens (Committee Chairperson) at for more information.

Can you help with sponsorship?

We are always looking for sponsorship for our events. Events like the Easter Egg Hunt, Raffles, Discos, Sausage Sizzles, Movie Nights and Gala all benefit from sponsorship. Sponsorship could be as a donation of money or of goods that can be raffled or auctioned. All sponsors are acknowledged in our school newsletters, on our Facebook page and on any correspondence or advertising that is associated with the sponsored event. Acknowledgment includes naming the company and using company logos.
